Quite recently the finite dimensional simple modular Lie superalgebras with a Cartan matrix have been classified by Bouarroudj, Grozman and Leites. Most of the new objects that arise in this classification, that is, which are not modular counterparts of the superalgebras in Kac's classfication in characteristic 0, are related ether to the Supermagic Square considered in the thesis of Isabel Cunha or to some Jordan superalgebras. The aim of this talk is to review this classification and its exceptional components.
