A conjecture by Bumby, Sontag, Sussmann and Vasconcelos from 1981 says:
A weakend form of the classical "Heymann's Lemma" from Control Theory is valid also for reachable linear sytems over complex polynomials.
In my talk Heymann's Lemma, the BSSV-conjecture and related results so far will be explained and a more recent related conjecture on certain Torplitz pencils will be discussed.
