The orthogonal polynomials (OP) are very useful tools in solving problems not only in Mathematics but also in Physics and Engineering. Among them, the classical orthogonal polynomials (COP) deserve a special attention. The main reasons are, from my point of view, from one hand the fact that they are polynomials (therefore there is easy to handle with) and from the other, they have an orthogonality property that have a lot of interesting consequences (for example, the three-term recurrence relations that the OP satisfy that is the best way of numerically compute them). In this talk I will discuss some of the application of classical orthogonal polynomials in several branches of Physics and Mathematical-Physics from my own experience of the last 25 years.
