Description: |
In this talk, we will give an overview about Mehler--Heine asymptotics of polynomials. This type of formulae is well known for very classical Jacobi, Laguerre and Hermite polynomials. We pay attention to recent results obtained for other families of polynomials such as generalized hypergeometric polynomials (not necessarily orthogonal), Freud orthogonal polynomials, and Sobolev orthogonal polynomials.
