An important problem in controlled release technology is the diffusion of a penetrant into a polymeric carrier where a drug is dispersed. A suitable choice for simulating drug delivery can be the classical Fick’s law. However to model the sorption of the liquid agent an equation that takes into account the viscoelastic nature of polymers and consequently its non Fickian behavior is needed. In this talk we will show and compare different initial-boundary value problems to model the process. This talk is a joint work with Professors: J.A. Ferreira, P. de Oliveira and M. Grassi.
