Abstract: In this paper we study the maximal function and local means characterization and the non-smooth atomic decomposition characterization of the Triebel-Lizorkin-type spaces with variable exponents F s(·),φ p(·),q(·) (R n ). These spaces were recently introduced by Yang et all and cover the Triebel-Lizorkin spaces with variable exponents F s(·) p(·),q(·) (R n ) as well as the classical Triebel-Lizorkin spaces F s p,q (R n ), even the case when p = ∞, and also the Triebel-Lizorkin-type spaces F s,τ p,q (R n ) with constant exponents which, in turn covers the Triebel-Lizorkin-Morrey spaces. As an application we obtain a pointwise multiplier assertion for those spaces.
