On the problem of stability of equilibrium figures of uniformly rotating liquids

Description:  We analyze the stability of some special solutions of the free boundary problem governing the evolution of an isolated mass of a viscous incompressible self-gravitating liquid. We briefly describe the results with surface tension and we give special attention to recent results in the case where the surface tension is not taken into account.
