In this talk, we will give a retrospective of, in our
opinion, the most important results of completion of matrices and
matrix pencils. Also, we will present some generalizations of these
results that we have obtained recently. Specifically, we will show the
result of the general row completion of an arbitrary matrix pencil,
over arbitrary fields
