Burch's inequality for modules

Description:  The Rees algebras of ideals were introduced by Rees (1956) to prove the Artin-Rees' lemma about filtrations of modules. In the 90's, several mathematicians studied the Rees algebras of modules in order to generalize for modules some known results for ideals. In this direction, we introduce the concept of Rees power of a module and discuss some asymptotic properties of these powers. In particular, we prove Burch's inequality for modules and deduce some consequences. Joint work with Santiago Zarzuela of the University of Barcelona.
