Emergence of strange attractors from singularities

Description:  In this seminar, we explore some mechanisms to obtain strange attractors (with one or two positive Lyapunov exponents). We will discuss some open questions related to the existence of strange attractors near a special type of homoclinic cycle (associated to a bifocus). This seminar is introductory and directed to non-specialists.
