I plan to define certain well-known and new quantum matrix algebras (for instance, Generalized Yangians) and discuss their properties.
In particular, I'll consider the problem of defining quantum determinants and other symmetric polynomials in all of them. Also, I'll exhibit some applications of this stuff.
