Uniform and Hölder approximation
 
 
Description:  Many results that appear in dealing with best Chebyshev approximation by algebraic or trigonometric polynomials have been extended to Hölder polynomial approximation. However it is clear that uniform convergence is a necessary but not a sufficient condition for Hölder approximation. We present different requirements that assert Hölder convergence from the uniform one. Applications of these new concepts are presented.
