Exploration of genomewide data: future challenges and the state of the art

Description:  I will present a collection of statistical and mathematical methods useful for the exploration of some types of multivariate data and in practice show how we have implemented them in the commercial software Qlucore Omics Explorer (QOE). In particular I will discuss classical principal component analysis (PCA) and multidimensional scaling (MDS) in connection with statistical hypothesis testing. I will propose a working methodology using QOE and throughout the talk exemplify the proposed methodology by applying it to several different genomewide microarray datasets. For information concerning Qlucore, see www.qlucore.com.
