(Semi)Definitely the Future!: Course on Semidefinite Optimization

Description: Semidefinite optimization is linear optimization over the positive definite matrices. This course will demonstrate its potential and its growing impact in a variety of applications, including discrete optimization and distance geometry problems. We will first provide a user-friendly introduction to semidefinite optimization, including an overview of algorithms. We will then survey some of the ongoing modeling and computational developments, and highlight promising directions for future research in this area.
